Pengaruh Media Sosial Berbasis Partisipasi Masyarakat terhadap Peningkatan Kunjungan Wisatawan Di Kabupaten Karo Sumatera Utara
Abstract
The influence of social media on tourism promotion in an area has enormous potential in increasing tourist visits to the area. We can see this from the many people who travel by providing information on the location of the tourist attractions they visit to the wider community in the photos they upload to their social media. In this case the community has a large enough role in promoting tourist attractions. Karo Regency is one of the districts in North Sumatra which has many tourist objects and attractions. Located not far from the city of Medan, Karo Regency becomes a tourist destination. The number of new tourist attractions in Karo Regency has become a destination for people to do tourism. In traveling, many people take photos and convert these photos into their social media accompanied by providing information about these tourist attractions. This community participation is a means of promotion for tourist attractions in Karo Regency. These activities can easily provide awareness and are passed on by social media followers to other social media which have an impact on increasing tourist visits in Karo Regency, North Sumatra.
